My parents are currently running Windows ME on their Pentium 3 home computer. (Yes, you read that correctly).

That said, do you happen what other operating system options might be available to them? (Will Linux run on such an old machine? What operating system would you most recommend?)

File system: 32-bit
Virtual memory: 32-bit
Ram: 384MB
Capacity: 42.9GB

Linux may run on there fine but putting anything newer like XP is going to be pushing the system with only 384 megs of memory.
I would suggest increasing the memory to 1 gig if possible and then a larger capacity hd maybe a 250 gig. First check the memory out by following the instructions below.

Go to HERE and run the Crucial online scanner.
This will give you the exact memory configuration for your system.
You do not have to buy the memory from there, but write down the information and if you need assistance in purchasing the upgrade memory GTG can assist with suggestions also.

Are you still having problems with your issue?
It has been 23 days since your last response and I was wondering if the issue has been resolved?
If so can you explain how it was resolved so others may be able to fix it if they have the same issue.
