I have a brand new Mac- one month old and I already have a big ol virus on it. Can someone please help me get rid of something called the MAC PROTECTOR virus? It keeps asking me to "cleanup" my computer etc and there are a million pops ups.

This isn't really a Mac forum but I did find this advice:

Open Applications > Utilities > Activity Monitor and quit any processes linked to MacProtector.

2. Delete MacProtector from the Applications folder.

3. Check System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items for suspicious entries

4. Run a Spotlight search for "MacProtector" to check for any associated files that might still be lingering.

Also http://www.macoscomp...er_malware.html has a manual install method for a similar virus.
