I was away when the 30 days was up.
I tried reinstalling the original vista. still shutsdown.
i reformated hard drive and install Linux. shutsdown..
Replaced power cord.
removed ram but did not try a new stick, don't know if that really matters..
When I re-formatted the H.D., does that restore a new registry or is it a new
registry every time I put a different operating system in?
I even ran linux from a disk and still shuts down..
usually if it is off for a week or so and i turn it on it will run for a day or so, then shutdown
and then after that it will just shutdown randomly..

Nobody has been able to figure this out//
unless it is my PSU but it did not start until the 31st day, so it has to do something with that activation.
Any idea's?? Please thanks so much, Jason

You need to provide information about your computer, this includes is it
a laptop or desktop, is it a custom build or brand name such as Dell or HP
and if it is provide the model name or series number, motherboard , PSU
and any add on card details would also help others to help you better.
This is most likely a pure coincidence and nothing to do with the W7 upgrade
with the power supply, heat and bad Ram possible causes.
Let us know the above information + if and when the inside of the case was
cleaned out of heat trapping dust.

I have Linux on it now, are there any programs like speedfan that will tell me the temp?
All fans are running as quiet as when I fist bought it..
It runs perfect when it runs..
and then out of nowhere, just shuts down..
or are there any programs that will tell me how my hardware is functioning?

Post a screenshot of the Speedfan readings 1st so that your temps and voltages can be checked.

EDIT: Just noticed that the PSU is only 220W, that is a minimal output for the demands placed
on PCs today, do you by chance have any add on cards such as the GFX or sound type.

I added RAM card, but that was working fine it seemed..

As far as I am aware Speedfan will not work with Linux.

Oh here might be a great detail that would help that I forgot..
when I said above about "usually if it is off for a week or so and i turn it on it will run for a day or so, then shutdown
and then after that it will just shutdown randomly.. When it starts to shut down quick like 2, 5, 10 minutes or whatever.
I can go and start another install of Linux or windows and while that process is happening the computer runs fine, when just
before it wouldn't stay on for more then a couple of minutes, once I turn the computer on and let it boot from the disk and install
another O.S. it will stay on for as long as it takes. I bet if I paused in the middle of installing and just sat there that the computer
would just keep running for days or however long. because something is not catching it or registering the shutdown...

Trying a known good PSU needs to be a priority, your last post shows that something is very unstable and if it is the PSU it may blow at any time and possibly take the entire system with it.
Just so you are aware the PSU in your case is smaller than a standard ATX PSU (see .jpeg below) but if you can loan a standard size for testing it will help rule in or out the PSU as the cause of your shut downs.

I have a standard size PSU from my old dell computer but the wiring is different.. They have a different number of pins for the connectors..
I am going to take a picture of both right now, so if you are have a couple of minutes to hang around or come back to here to check it out..
