Programs and desktop icons gone after "xp recovery" removal

Hello geeks to go. After removing "xp recovery" with rkill and malwarebytes my desktop icons have disapered also "programs" ln my "start" menu. Any help will be apreciated. Runnig XP HomeAddition. I am not very tech savy and am a bit overwhelmed.
