Which Dvd Discs to buy?

I am planning to buy a pack of dvd disc so i can record my digital videos onto it. I am going to buy from tigerdirect. I have selected few :

Why is -R always cheaper than +R? What is the difference? My dvd player can play both? Is one better than the other? Also is there any specific brand that i should be buying ?
