Hi QPR
It is possible that your laptop has a hidden infection, please follow the Malware Forum self help guide first;
http://www.geekstogo...cleaning-guide/ when done if you feel that you may still have a malware issue start a new topic on the Malware Forum and a Tech will assist you there, do not post any logs here as they are not dealt with outside of the Malware Forum do however provide the Techs with a link to this topic so that any steps that may have been taken already can be checked.
Can I ask do you have the Vista or recovery disk that may have been provided or created for the laptop, the OS may have become corrupt and require a repair installation.

Thanks for the welcome Phil, I've run anti- malware on quick scan, and found the 8 infections, but on a full scan it freezes the blue screen comes up and it shuts down. Should I look for the disc to re-install windows?
It's working fine in safe mode!
Thanks for the help.

I can't find the disc!
Any advice before I put it in for repair?
Which I'm loathed to do cos I don't think there's much wrong with it.

I suggest following Phills instructions for checking for hidden infections. Standard scanners cannot get as deep as the specialized programs the malware techs have access to and have been trained to use.
