What is Antivirus 2011 Edition limitée?

The Malwarebytes research team has determined that Antivirus 2011 Edition limitée is a fake anti-malware application. These so-called "rogues" use intentional false positives to convince users that their systems have been compromised. Then they try to sell you their software, claiming it will remove these threats. In extreme cases the false threats are actually the very trojans that advertise or even directly install the rogue. You are strongly advised to follow our removal instructions below.

Since this rogue attempts to hide your taskbar and your desktop icons, you may have to use another method to run programs.

  • Click on File at the top and select New Task (Run...)
  • In the Create New Task box type mbam and press Enter or click on OK Note: If Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is currently not installed, you can instead use the Browse... button and locate the setup file for Malwarebaytes' Anti-Malware if you've already downloaded it, if you haven't, then you can instead type or copy/paste http://malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.php into the box and press Enter or click on OK to download and run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware's setup file

  • Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.
  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a check-mark is placed next to the following:

  • Then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.

  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. Reboot your computer if prompted.
  • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. The rogue application should now be gone.
