Hi, my battery in this laptop was not working and I used to use it with AC cable. I recently replaced the battery but after that all of a sudden it does not start. When I press the power button with the AC cable connected, the num lock and caps lock lights blink once (they pulsate if I press the power button continuously, there is a very small and brief sound but then nothing happens. If I try to turn it on with the battery alone, no lights blink. I tried using the old battery to find the same results. I tried draining and pressing fn, pressing fn + f8. I opened the ram and put it back : 2 GB single slot. It is still the same. Please suggest me if there is anything I can do about it.

Hi maddy123 :) sorry to hear that you are having issues with your laptop.
Have you tried removing the AC adapter, battery and Ram and then pressing and holding the power on button for 30 seconds and then reassembling and powering up, this will discharge any static charge that may have built up inside the laptop.
Other things to check, try the Ram in the second Ram slot, if your AC adapter has a green LED is it illuminated when powered up and the condition of the power jack at the rear of the laptop, is it secure as they can sometimes become detached from the MB resulting in failure to power up, charge the battery and cause short circuits in the laptop.
Was the new battery a genuine Fujitsu replacement or a cheaper generic type.

Thank you. I will try your advice and let you know the results. Yes, the new battery is a genuine fujitsu battery.
