Saved thunderbird email won't delete

Hello,

My dad is having a problem on his Windows 7 desktop. He's using Mozilla Thunderbird and saved several emails to the hard drive. Now he would like to delete some of the saved emails in his documents folder but there is no way to delete them. Dragging to trash won't work. There's no delete option on right click.

Any help would be appreciated.
