Hi Im somewhat new here,

I recently installed AVG for virus scanning purposes and to block my browser from redirecting

If you were being redirected before you installed AVG then there's a strong possibility that you may be infected and very unlikely that AVG will solve the issue now. Were/are you being redirected?

If that is the case, then your best option would be to follow the instructions in our Malware and Spyware Cleaning Guide. Please begin with Step 2 and continuing on to Steps 3,4, & 5. Do Not post your logs in the Computer Help forums. Start a new thread in the removal forum as directed in Step 3 of the Guide.

Thank you,

Donna :)
