Hello!

I recently got a virus removed from my computer thanks to this website and I figured I'd come back again with what I think is an unrelated problem.
About three weeks ago, Windows tried to update on my computer but for some unknown reason couldn't install the updates. What came up was error code 80096001. I browsed about the internet, trying to find how to resolve the internet, but being the complete computer n00b I am, I couldn't understand any of the fixes. My computer seems to be running just fine, though, so I didn't pay it any heed.
However, just the other day I came home from college for Christmas break and ran across the issue of my computer being unable to connect to the wireless internet at home. It connects just fine to my university's wireless, but not here.
Now, I'm not sure if the error code and the inability to connect to the internet with being directly plugged in are related, but I figured I'd ask.
So, are they related? Whether or not, what can I do to help Windows update? (All the updates are security ones, so I think they're kind of important, haha!)

Thank you!
