Just found this site, hope you guys can help this is a machine my roommate built from NewEgg parts, about 6 months ago, haven't had problems like this until recently. I run AVG antivirus.

I'm tech savvy enough to do a little damage when I start poking around, but not enough to fix anything.

System specs:

Windows 7
Intel i7- 2600 8 core
ACPI x64-based PC
Logitech mouse & keyboard
AMD Radeon HD 6800 series


The symptoms: Monitor goes black, audio dies, I turn the monitor back on and it says no signal from PC. The PC is still on, I can hear the fans going and see lights, but I assume it's crashed. I have to manually reboot.
I haven't found a pattern to what causes it, watching streaming video seems to be one...? But I watch a lot of streaming video (don't we all) so who can say for sure.


Apparently I only have 4 recent minidump files saved, but this problem happens quite regularly. I use my machine to render (I do motion graphics) and it's really starting to hurt business.
