Hi guys im having a problem attempting to set up a wireless repeater on my home LAN. I have spent many frustrating hours trawling how to guides and forums, and it seems this is very possible but i come unstuck at the point of trying to navigate my secondary routers software to duplicate the settings in my base station.

I have a NETGEAR DGND3700 at my DSL connection which has a wireless repeating function built in and seems pretty straight forward, but the router i want o use as my AP was supplied by my ISP O2 and it seems they have locked it down and i cant work out where to enter the duplicate info IP, SSID, Channel, MAC etc. The ISP router model is a Thomson TG585n v2 which is now owned by technicolour.

I have a very good instruction in the NETGEAR installation guide that explains what i think im trying to do with diagrams and step by step instructions, if anyone can translate that in to simple terms of how to go about configuring the AP then that would be very much appreciated.

I hope i have explained my problem well enough any questions ill be happy to provided any further info.

regards

Hello there doubledontour07,

As I promised in chat I will take a look at this. I'll need some time to research some stuff though.
Hang in there while I figure some stuff out.

In the meanwhile, you can use the forums' attach feature to attach screenshots to this post.

Regards,
Olrik

Thanks for your efforts

Since my last post I have been in touch with O2 who have informed me that the firmware is locked down and can only be changed by them, so that leads me back again to the settings based repeater function.

I will add screen shots of the information I have shortly

Thanks again
