Can you please start off by giving us the make and model of you laptop.

Example: Dell inspron 1525...........
Also please download the files below and run them on the machine in question. You will obviously need to transfer the files and then logs via a usb device or blank cd.
Please download FarbarServiceScanner and run it on the computer with the issue.

Make sure the following options are checked:
Internet Services
Windows Firewall
System Restore
Security Center/Action Center
Windows Update
Press "Scan".
It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.
Please copy and paste the log to your reply.
Please download MINITOOLBOX and run it.

Checkmark following boxes:
Report IE Proxy Settings
Report FF Proxy Settings
List content of Hosts
List IP configuration
List Winsock Entries
List last 10 Event Viewer log
List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size
List Devices (Problems only)
Click Go and post the result.

Couple questions for you:
1.) Has this computer ever gotten on the Internet using this wireless connection?
2.) If no for #1, does the Internet work if you plug an Ethernet cable into your laptop from the router?
3.) Are there any other computers in your home that connect to the Internet through the same router?
4.) If yes to #2, then do any of these computers connect via wireless?
No matter what you chose for any of the questions above, please do the following:

- Click on START-->RUN and type in: cmd and click OK.
- In the black window that appears, type in: ipconfig and hit ENTER.
- Post in your reply what it shows for the IP Address for the Wireless Network Connection.
