Hello all,
I am trying to connect my WGE111 Wireless Game Adapter to my router. It was once connected but has been a while since I have used it and have a new router that I need to connect it to. I have followed the directions that I normally would follow, hooking the adapter up to the computer directly and/or the router and running the Setup Wizard from the netgear website. It finds the device but then when it searches for Available Wireless Networks, it gives me "Network Error" and that is all. I am working with a Linksys WRT300N Wireless Router. I have tried disabling the encryption as well as changing the broadcast to only G and variations of that with no results. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Hello there!

First off, sorry for the delay in our response. We too have some stuff to do at times ;)

On to your issue; it sounds like this is a very specific issue with the WGE111 Game Adapter?
You say you have already tried changing the security settings on the router?

According to the specs of the WGE111, the following would be the best setup.

Network Mode: 802.11G (Often labeled as "G Only" on routers under modes)
Wireless Security: WEP (128-bits)

Regards,
Olrik

Thank you for the advice. Unfortunately changing the router settings to

Network Mode: 802.11G (Often labeled as "G Only" on routers under modes)
Wireless Security: WEP (128-bits)

did not change anything. The process continues to be the same...

Hi,

I recently had a few issues with my WGE111 but got it working after a few steps,

First I changed my laptops ip address to static using 192.168.0.1 so I could access the device via a browser window (192.168.0.202)
Then I updated to the latest firmware

ISSUE: Encryption: My router was originally set with WPA2
RESOLUTION: I had to enable WPA support on my router

ISSUE: When I chose dynamic ip on the WGE111 I got a "Network Error" message.
RESOLUTION: I reset my routers sub net to 192.168.0 (originally 192.168.1) and then set the WGE111 to dynamic.

All working now.

Hope it helps.
