Hello. I could use some expert help. I have a 1 year old HP Envy 14 laptop (product no wv531av) that recently started returning a "no bootable device found" error when restated. The odd thing is that it ONLY happens on RESTART. If I power down with the power switch or SHUT DOWN and turn on then the computer boots up normally. It is consistent. It always returns an error on restart and works fine when powered off and back on. The diagnosis tools tell me the hard drive checks out fine. I played around with the boot order in the BIOS but it did not help. Any advice would be much appreciated.

No help needed. I was able to fix this issue. In case anybody runs into a similar problem my issue was some garbage in my registry. I used a registry cleaner to delete the garbage and that fixed my issue completely. Not sure if it was something leftover from an application that was deleted or maybe left there by a virus. In any event, I used CCleaner to fix.

we don't recommend ANY registry cleaners...they usually do more harm than good...
I'm glad it worked out ok for you...
