windows live essentials 2011 update

I am running Windows 7......64 bit. Windows Live Essentials 2011 is trying to update but cannot finish. It stops because it cannot update windows mail. I get the number 0x80040609. This goes on every day and I am tired of trying to find a solution to this problem. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.
