Hello GtoG legends,

 

I am desperate for some help with my system. I hit a wall when trying to repair/fix it and now the computer tech who has it looks like they too are about to give up!! 

 

Issue: 

It started with a few BSODs in windows. Unfortunately, the code/QR code couldn't be capture to obtain more info. 

This then morphed in to full system locks, periodically and at random, no specific cause or timing. They were few and far between and might of had one every few days at worse on every day. 

These then progressed suddenly to anywhere from 10 minute - 30 minutes every time the computer is turned on. Again at random, worth noting putting the computer under load made no difference.

 

After testing and the current model being pretty basic, I figured the mobo was the root cause. I did a full motherboard swap and hardware clean. This did not fix the issue. 

 

System: 

Windows 11

Processor AMD 5950 X

GPU: ASUS 6800XT 16gb / temp swap to 5090 Ti

Motherboard ASUS TUF X570 PRO (was an MSI B550) 

RAM: 128gb Corsair DDR4 3200mhz 

Primary Drive Samsung 1TB M.2 PRO + Bunch of extra storage

Corsair H150i Cooler 

PSU 850 watt Corsair Gold 

 

 

What's been tried

Full hardware/case clean

Full stress test of all components, multiple times with nothing flagged

Removal of all RAM sticks and tested individually + tested each ram slot 

Motherboard swap as previously mentioned 

Full wipe and fresh install of windows

Removal of M.2 and used different drive for primary boot to eliminate a corrupt drive being a potential issue

Full swap of GPU from Radeon to Nvidia 

Full reset of BIOS

Update and new BIOS version loaded

 

None of this has resulted in any improvement. 

 

PSU swap is the next thing on the list and then the only thing I can think of is CPU? 

 

Would love any ideas or feedback! I am stumped and the store currently looking at it is also running out of ideas.

Can we have the model name or number and the age of the PSU which btw is too weak to power a 5090 Ti and so that particular GPU needs to be taken out of the equation meaning that the ASUS 6800XT needs to be factored back in.

 

Download then run Speccy ( free ) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s. 

 

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

1. In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.
2. In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.
3. Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Download MiniToolBox and save the file to the Desktop.

Close the browser and run the tool, check the following options;

List last 10 Event Viewer Errors
List Installed Programs
List Devices (Only Problems)
List Users, Partitions and Memory size

Click on Go.

Post the resulting log in your next reply for us if you will.
