symevnt.386 is not loaded, reinstall norton anti virus. i have tried to reinstall the system kit by inserting the discs, but it will not automatically start like it used to. then i tried to install by control panel add/remove but that will not work either. does anyone know how to help me.

If you click start then run then type msconfig then press enter then start up tab, look for NAV or Sym / Symantec and removes the ticks, press apply and reboot, does it load normally?

If you boot the PC then keep tapping the F8 key right after the beep until you get the options screen, will it load safe mode with networking
