Hey, I have a problem on my sisters laptop. The thing is whenever I access files on C drive like just browse them, a popup saying "Windows Explorer has stopped working" comes up and it restarts. And that happens everytime I do that.. I have tried searching similar problems on google and even tried sfc scannnow command on cmd. I don't know what to do anymore The problem has been for about a month now.. and system restres didn't solve it too.

It's a ASUS X53U. Win7 64-bit.

Thanks =)

if chkdsk doesn't fix your problem and since you have already run sfc /scannow
try running sfc /scannow a few more times...sometimes running sfc several times will correct the problem...
nojoy
if your still having issues then do a Win7′s no-reformat, nondestructive reinstall...
good guide here...

what do you mean by sfc/ scannow didn't work
did you get a error

we need to see the CHKDSK Log
Go to Start and type in eventvwr.msc...press Enter
Expand the Windows logs heading, then select the Application log file entry.
Double click on the Source column header.
Scroll down the list until you find the Chkdsk entry
(wininit for Win7)
(winlogon for XP).

Copy/paste the results into your next post.
