Recently I was listening to some audio programs on the laptop, HP Pavilion Entertainment PC. The
next day when I started it up there was a x next to the sound icon, and when I clicked on it it
said, "No Audio Output Device is Installed." I had had the audio turned up to the max the day before.

The OS name is Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium
Version: 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 Build 6002
System Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard
System Model: HP Pavilion dv6700 (KN828UA#ABA)
System Type: x86-based PC
Processor AMD Turian ™ 64x2 Mobile Technology TL-60, 2000 Mhz, 2 Core(s),2Logi
Bios Version /Date Hewlett-Packard F34, 3/22/2011

The laptop often will not restart after Windows updates and installations. I have to
then start it manually. I can only use it about 30 minutes without the charger.
Thank you for any ideas for getting the sound back.
