On Windows 7:
I can't hide folders, like program folders or folders in Music, My Documents, or Pictures. I can hide individual files in the folders, but the option (under properties) to hide the folder is grayed out.
What to do?

Found the reason. It was the application Rainbow Folders which I was using to color code the folders. Turn it off on a folder and then I could change the properties like to hide.
