i have windows 7 professional 32 bit installed on my computer and i want to upgrade to windows deluxe 64 bit. i have the 64 bit on a flash drive but i cant install it and everytime i try, it shows me an error and tells me i need a disc. how can i install it without a disc? i dont care about losing files so ive tried to format c: in windows and in command prompt.

You cannot simply upgrade to the 64 bit like you are trying to do. You would need to format the system and then load the 64 bit version fresh.

How to do a fresh install?
Start the system with the Win7 cd in and during the process it will ask what partition to install. You will then have to tell it to format the partition and then start the install.


You can use this tutorial HERE to do a Clean Install of Win 7.
