I've built PCs in the past, but not for a few years. Various sorta niggling issues have led me to want another one, and for it to replace a bunch of the items lying round my house (both a British and American blu-ray player, and a general XBMC-like streaming box).

Anyway, I feel fairly confident about most of it, I'm just struggling to find information on the one thing that's changed since I last built - the availability of blu-ray drives. Searching for "multi-region blu ray drive hacks" just takes me to an endless list of forums about DVD players, which is what I'm hoping to get rid of.

So, a question, if one of you kind souls would reply to a brand new member. Is it fairly easy to make an individual blu-ray drive multi-region these days? (my wife's American, I'm English, so we've got a wide variety of discs) If not, then would people recommend just getting a PC and putting two blu-ray drives in it? Actually, I'm not even sure if that's possible, like in the old days with DVD drives, where you could switch region on them like 5 times before they locked.

So, that's it. I saw a media PC built into an old NES box this morning, so mine will never be as cool as that, but I'm just tryin'.
