Hello,

How can I back up all of Windows 7? I want to back up everything (Programs, custom settings, documents, etc), and store the backup on a partition. So if anything should happen and I need to format, I can restore my system back to the way I have it now without having to re-install everything and set up all the programs to my liking. What kind of software do I need for that? What else should I know?

Any help, greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

What you need is to create a full image of the system and for that you can use the backup tool included on Windows 7 or a free tool like Macrium Reflect Free Edition.

Thank you. I've seen the Windows 7 back up before, was not sure if it would back up the entire drive or just selected sections.

There are to types of backups this one using Imaging and the other for Files, Folders, etc. created by the Windows Backup program.
