Yeah that is where I was heading toward Skeptic.
I didn't want to disable everything through autoruns so I figured doing it this way would be easier. I have to agree there are just to many things starting on bootup and most likely the reason for the slowdown.

This has been happening longer than I've had the majority of these startup items. They are all pretty necessary. I use Evernote, Dropbox, Sugarsync, Displayfusion and Autohotkey - the other items, as I see it, are essential startup items.

Regardless, this has been happening way before I acquired all of these startup items..

OK please do the following.

Go to Start then to Run
Type in compmgmt.msc and click Enter
On left side click on Disk Management
On right side you will see you hard drive.
Male sure the window is open all the way on the top right so I can see all the info it has.
Now I need you to take a screenshot and attach it to your next reply. Do the following to take a screenshot while the above is open and showing on your desktop.

To do a screenshot please have click on your Print Screen on your keyboard. It is normally the key above your number pad between the F12 key and the Scroll Lock key
Now go to Start and then to All Programs
Scroll to Accessories and then click on Paint
In the Empty White Area click and hold the CTRL key and then click the V
Go to the File option at the top and click on Save as
Save as file type JPEG and save it to your Desktop
Make sure the window is open all the way so I can see everything on the top right window.

Attach it to your next reply

Thanks and that shows the issue is not the free space.
Memory checks out ok
Chkdsk checked out ok
HD diagnostics checked out ok
Free space checked out ok.
Autoruns are very questionable right now

ok I need you to do the following and let me know what it says

For HD only

Let's make sure all drives are using DMA mode

Click the Start and then Right click My Computer
Select Manage and In the Computer Management window, select Device Manager
In the right pane, click to expand IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers
The click on the + sign next to your Hard drive controllers on both the Primary Controller and Secondary Controller
Right click on the drive and select Properties
Click the Advanced Settings tab
In the Transfer Mode box open the drop down menu and select DMA if available
Redo the steps to check each of the Controllers
Click OK and exit all windows
Reboot to make sure all settings take affect. Reply back with your results

Please try what we suggested regarding disabling, temporarily, all startup items. We just want to see if the problem is related. You can always enable all startup items again. Please note that even a single item can cause this problem and it may be one that is very old on your computer. If we find that the problem is related then we'll guide you how to find the culprit.

This test is essential and cannot cause any harm whatsoever.

Sorry, should have done that.
I did, and surprisingly there was NO improvement at all! I thought that it would have at least been a little bit quicker..

Is the computer working well after all is loaded or is it still slow?

Run MSCONFIG again and click Processes. Check "hide Microsoft processes". Disable a number of the non-Microsoft processes (five, for example), reboot and see if it works better. If not, re-enable the disabled ones and disable another group. If you notice a significant difference after one of the group is disabled, look for the culprit within the group by disabling one of it's process at a time.

It's a somewhat lengthy procedure but should be tried.

No improvement :\.
And yes, the computer works beautifully after it starts up. Just that hang between login and showing desktop.
My research on the problem showed that it's not a too uncommon problem with Windows - there are tons of examples (Search google for balck screen with mouse cursor after login)

No, the issue still persists. Very discouraging... :(
