Seeing the largely negative reception of Windows 8, do you think Microsoft will see putting Metro UI on a PC was a mistake and get rid of if in Windows 9? I sure hope so. Its a bad sign if that is the future of PCs. Its basically trying to use a smart phone OS on a PC and it SUCKS, badly. For now it seems Windows 7 will be the next XP for the foreseeable future.

No. Windows 8 is still selling well enough, despite all the bashing. They have no reason to get rid of it.

After all, Windows 8 is just like Windows 7, only faster and with a fancier Start screen. It is not as bad as people make it out to be.

I have seen people saying Windows 8 is doing worse than Vista was at this point in its lifespan. I am thinking Windows 8 is at the level New Coke was in terms of being a failure.
