Hi everyone! I recently bought a new computer, it's HP Pavilion and is installed with Windows8. Everything was fine until about a week ago when this lock screen kept coming on, every 60 seconds mind you, wanting my password before I can go back to what I was doing? The computer used to go to sleep after 15 minutes or so, but now this lock screen just pops up and the computer won't go to sleep on its own. If I put it to sleep the lock screen isn't there when I wake it up. I don't know why this started, I don't think I changed a thing since I don't know how. We've only had the computer for 12 days! If I'm doing something the lock screen won't come up, but if I walk away to go pee or get a drink or deal with a dog, then it comes up 60 seconds or so after I leave. It's very annoying! I've tried things other forums have suggested but nothing has worked! Do I need to take it back to Best Buy and have them fix it already? Thanks for any help you can offer.

Doesn't work, I don't have a laptop. This is my desktop that's doing this. Every 60 seconds. Driving me nuts!

The same aspect applies whether it's a desktop or a laptop.

This article, which is exactly the same, talks about a desktop.

Thanks for the help, but this only works with Windows8 Pro. I don't think I will EVER get rid of this lock screen. Better to take it back now and get something I can work with. what a nightmare! This has got to be the most annoying thing I've ever had to deal with on a computer.
