The service tag is 8rkzg4j
It also has an express service code which is 19082091619
The drivers are from the disc that came with it or from windows update apart from the graphics card ones which are from the amd website.

While I look at this

The drivers are from the disc that came with it or from windows update apart from the graphics card ones which are from the amd website.

which in respect of the drivers from the disc may not be the best way, would you please go here and FOLLOW all the instructions for the uninstall and reinstall of the latest driver from AMD dated January

YOU are following D on the first section and then the instructions below

http://support.amd.c...ATIProduct.aspx

Your service tag says

Product Support for Inspiron 546 not 645

Sorry about that link replaced

Although you say you have found it

YOU may really struggle with this - as that computer on your service tag has no drivers for Windows 8

http://www.dell.com/...viceTag/8rkzg4j

However lets see how far we can get

OPEN the case and check the cleanliness of the fans - one case fan and one CPU fan on the cooler

TAKE CARE DO NOT release or disturb any clips on the CPU cooler

All I would like you to do now please is to check the cleanliness of the fan blades and the cooling fins below the CPU fan

re your last after uninstalling from Control Panel did you

  • To verify that the legacy graphics driver has been uninstalled, return to the Uninstall or Change a Program list and ensure that there is no ATI specific software listed
  • If ATI specific software is still listed, remove any remaining ATI software components using the above process and restart the system when complete

and restart the system when complete

    before installing the new one

The two main manufacturers of graphic processors are AMD and Nvidia

AMD bought ATi

http://www.anandtech...later-this-year

The fact that your graphics card uses the AMD 6570 GPU does not mean that it is an AMD manufactured card

It could be MSI, Sapphire, XFX etc all of which will use the AMD graphics processor

Do not worry about it uninstall as per the instructions and install the new driver/ and control centre software

Then try running it with the case open see if then shuts down. Additionally you may gain a better impression as to where the noise is from

I suspect the CPU fan

I did the system refresh and followed the god driver installation instructions and it worked, tried a game again, it lasted longer but it shut down again, couldnt really tell which fan was making the more noise but I agree with what you said.
