when I am typing, the cursor keeps jumping and does not type what I type and keep having to retype. any suggestions as how to fix? thanks much.

Since this is a notebook, do you have Tap to click enabled? If so, that may be the problem. Try disabling it and see if that resolves it.

SORRY, do not know what you mickan by gap to clemean by tapp to click. leaving mistakes in here as that is what it does

Tap to click is the ability to lightly tap the touch pad and have it interpreted as if you clicked the left mouse button. It's one of the first things I disable on any laptop I work on.

You posted everything but what the make and model number of the computer is :lol:

Usually you can turn this off (or on) via Control Panel, Mouse settings.

(Please don't quote my posts. I can see everything I need by looking at the thread, thanks).

If you use a Mouse:

Or, go to the Asus site, download and install the Touchpad driver then reboot.

Now in the Taskbar, System tray area (right side) you should see an icon for the Touchpad. Right click on it and see if Tap to click is there. If so, uncheck it. If not, open properties or settings and turn it off there, usually under Touchpad tab.

How did you get Windows 7 on that computer? According to their web site, it only comes with Windows 8?

Anna, how does it work if you boot to Safe Mode with Networking? Do you still have the cursor problem?

thank y'all so much. took me a while to get here as not feeling good at all. anyway I took computer back yesterday, was given another one, refurbished.Same model as could not afford others Will see how this one does.
