Hello Geeks to go,

I'm new to the Forum, you were recommended by a freind as i have a PC problem.

I hope this is in the right place.

The problem is i cant log into my account.

This was yesturday.

My password wouldnt work when I tried to open my PC this morn.
It did earlier when my wife logged on but wont now 2 hrs later, nothing has been changed.
it says -

The user profile service failed the login.
User profile cannot be loaded.

Any ideas.
I've logged on useing my Son's account password, that works fine, but I cant access any of my doc's etc.

I have done a system restore back to the begining of the month but that has not worked.

I tried putting it in Safe mode, and then, Last known good configuration, but it still would not let me log in.

Since then i have done a Regedit in the search box as directed by this video -

That cured the prob and all was back to normal again.

Happy bunny I thought.

Wife used the PC this morning, all fine, logged off, i tried to log on 4 hours later, same problem.

The user profile service failed the login.
User profile cannot be loaded.

Any idea's?

Well you've done all the right things mate.

Have you made any "back to factory" recovery disks and do you have an option to back up any personal stuff to external media?

Microsoft seem very vague on this issue although they have issued a KB.
