Ok i have a almost brand new hp pavilion g6 notebook pc, its barely been used these last few months besides for the occasional search or email sign in. Recently i downloaded a few programs(utorrent, daemon tools lite, winrar) and 2 torrent games i had installed already on my desktop. My laptops able to run them easily enough at the highest settings and games ran great on the system.

But now all of a sudden it's started to slow down, i thought maybe it was just the settings straining it but then the entire pc started slowing down, it would only take 2 seconds to start up a program or load a tab now it takes 5-10 and the refresh blue icon keeps popping up for everything i click on regardless. It then says programs are unresponsive or pages but then they load up the very next second.

I tried using system refresh but the computer was still slow and now it's taking longer to boot up also, i tried using restore operations but it keeps saying it failed afterwards then sends me a notice saying system successfully restored once i am on the desktop screen. It recently froze just now when i was trying to write this before.

I also noticed a high disk and memory usage spikes out of know where, and the screen when i try to play medieval 2 total war will only cover half the screen at first before fully covering it, when i'm on my browser the screen background jumps in and out from the screen saver to the purple of the windows 8 app.

I also noticed my mother installed malware called "sweetpacks.com" i was able to delete it and i went into regedit to finish it off but i might have messed up it some also. Also the refresh operation no longer works it says it is missing files and when i tried to change my password it says i needed a flash-drive before it never said this?

Hello Isaac and welcome to Geeks To Go.

I'll wager that you have or had more than just the Sweetpacks malware on your system so please read this.
