OK Windows has Media Player already. I personally have not used it in years once I found VLC. No worries about codecs or any of that nonsense. Just a thought but you could install one update at a time and that way you would know exactly what is causing the issue. I agree though if it is working now enjoy it for awhile.

installed vlc and klite codec packs for now. 24 hours and no BSOD now that is an achievement. I am not worrying about the updates for now just making sure that it isn't one of the programs. Next step is updating GPU drivers. creating restore points at each step

all set now updated drivers installed office utorrent and kept it on through night in idle state with sleep off. happily alive in the morning. I think now it is safe to say that problem has gone for the time being at least and that it was a software issue after all.

OK tell you what since you just got everything updated and running lets see what happens by Friday. If everything still is running good then we will consider this a software issue that has been resolved. I will continue to monitor this topic and wait patiently :whistling: for Friday to get here with you posting everything working great.

There was one BSOD on monday after I made a new account on pc (with a name that I have been using in previous installations). I immediately deleted that account and made another one with a different name. Since then no BSOD. lets hope it stays that way.
