I have a ultra 5 workstation with solaris 9 installed. How can I setup a static ip, subnet mask, & gateway? :tazz:

Open a terminal window and use su to gain administrative rights if you don't already have them. Type the following command, substituting your IP, netmask and broadcast numbers where the *'s are and the network interface adress where the "_" is (default is hme0, but to find out for sure use the "ifconfig -a" command to list all NIC's and their current properties.

ifconfig "_" *.*.*.* netmask *.*.*.* broadcast *.*.*.*
