Not sure how it relates to the one you have. Could be the same thing for all I know. If this is not what you have then perhaps it will work better than the one you have. Probably wouldn't hurt even if you think it's the same. It might need to be reinstalled.

Another possibility if the driver was recently updated is to go into Device Manager and tell it to revert back to the older driver.
Right click on My Computer and select Manage then Device Manager and then look under Video, Graphic or Display adapters for the driver. Then right click on it and select Properties then Driver then Roll Back driver.

After the reboot, run a new Process Explorer log and let's see if that helped.

I tryed to updae the driver. I tried to do the advance option and clicke the box to remove and update. That was a mistake. Driver install failed. I couln't do just the driver update after that and coludn't roll back either. I lost the driver and when I re-started windows started in VGA. I then re-installed from the Product CD and that would equate to the roll back since the only update I have done was the one two weeks ago. The log below is with the driver from the CD. Should I just try to update the drive again?

Also got a blue screen with an error nv4_disp.dll when trying to open adobe photoshop.

This driver does have a lower Interrupts number but is still not as good as it should be.
nv4_disp.dll is from your video driver so it probably needs a newer driver than the one on the CD.

IF you go into Device Manager there should be an option to look for a newer driver. You might try that first but if it can't find one then try deleting the driver, rebooting and install the new one.

I was able to install the new driver and photoshop launched. I am now back to the driver I installed 2 weeks ago.

Would you recomend a new video card?
If so do you know a good one for someone who uses photoshop for hours each day?

Something odd is going on.
I see less than 10 % of the CPU usage (adding up the above). Can't see what is really using the CPU. Normally with a log like this is should be crawling. Could you try the process explorer log again and make sure you wait a full minute for things to settle down before you create the log?

Let's see if reducing the hardware accelleration helps:

Click on Start and then Control Panel.

Click on the Appearance and Themes link.

Note: If you're viewing the Classic View of Control Panel, double-click on the Display icon and skip to Step 4.

Under the or pick a Control Panel icon section, click on the Display link.

In the Display Properties window, click on the Settings tab.

When viewing the Settings tab, click on the Advanced button at the bottom of the window, directly above the Apply button.

In the window that displays, click on the Troubleshoot tab.

In the Hardware acceleration area, move the Hardware acceleration: slider to the leftmost position.

Reboot.

Run a new Process Explorer log and post the log.

That looks a lot better. How is the PC running now? Should be fairly decent now.

You can try moving the acceleration slider a notch or two to the right and then check your Process Explorer log again and see if Interrupts stays low. Keep trying until you get to a point where Interrupts goes up and then back off one notch.
