I have been running multiple Operating Systems, partially for fun & partially due to software/OS compatibility issues.

I have been using Paragon Partition Manager & Acronis Disk Director. There have been some problems. I gave up using Partition Magic due to alleged problems running under Windows 7.

Windows 7 automatically set up Dual Boot which interfered with my Boot Mamager. I took action to disable Dual Boot. This resulted in not being to boot. Rescue CD software was unable to restore bootability. I hoped that reinstall of Windows 7 using repair or upgrade option would fix bootability without losing the installed application software. No such luck.
Can Win7 Dual Boot capability be prevented from occurring? Is there a safe way to disable it once it is enabled?

I am hoping to avoid this problem in the future..

Hi,

Can you tell use what Boot Manager you use?

I don't think you can disable the Dual Boot capability, but if you install the OS's in the "wrong way" Windows 7 will not create entry's on the Boot Menu for the other OS's but it will create the boot entry for Win7 itself.

When you use a different Boot Manager you must be prepared to restore it to the MBR and also backup the configuration.
