Here is the scanned ListChkdskResult file. The sfc /scannow command did not appear to improve the situation.

There is a development of sorts worth noting. If I wait over 15 minutes, windows will launch. From what I've been reading in other threads on this forum and elsewhere (notably the online armor forum), there may be some conflict between MSE and online armor that causes this.

Ok. It worth a try Uninstall Online Armor to see it that is the problem or not.
After uninstall it seems you have to restart the computer two times!

Ok. It worth a try Uninstall Online Armor to see it that is the problem or not.
After uninstall it seems you have to restart the computer two times!

Uninstalling Online Armor seems to have fixed things, though it also leaves me using windows firewall for now.

Would you suggest trying to reinstall Online Armor (either now or later) or just finding a new firewall entirely?

For now it's better to not install Online Armor until this problem got fixed.
If your computer is connected to a router and you enable the Windows 7 firewall you get a decent level of protection.

Edit: It seems there is a workaround if you add MSE to the OA exclusions list and vice versa check this post for instructions.

Ok, then you have to keep one eye on the Online Armor forum to know when the problem is solved.
