Hi,

I use this order:

  • mobile intel 4 series express chipset family (+1 more)
  • Intel ICH9 family PCI Express Root Port 2 - 2942 (+3 more)
  • Intel ICH9 Family SMBus Controller - 2930
  • Intel ICH9 Family USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 293C ( +7 more)
  • Intel ICH9M-E?M SATA AHCI Controller
  • intel 82801 PCI Bridge - 2448
  • Mobile Intel 4 Series Chipset Processor to DRAM controller - 2A40
  • atheros AR8131 PCI-E gigabit ethernet controller (NDIS 6.2)
  • high definition audio controller
  • Intel high definition audio HDMI
  • Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN
  • Realtek High Definition Audio
  • HD Video WebCam

I don't know the program because I normally update manually. From the descriptions from 1-7 it should be covered by installing the Chipset driver

i tried installing # 1 and 2. # 1 said it failed and i think # 2 installed ok. upon reboot i am receiving the following

igfxtray.exe

entry point not found. the procedure entry point loadSTRINGW cannot be located in the dynamic library hccutils.dnl

hkcmd.exe (followed by the above same message)

there is a roll back feature, should i do that?

thanks

Hi,

Both files mentioned are related to an Intel Graphics card try to update or reinstall the driver.

Intel have this page where you can install an ActiveX component to detect the Intel Drivers you need to install (use Internet Explorer to access the site).

the intel site claimed

the intel chipset software installer utility was up to date
audio driver for intel desktop - unknown
wireless network - had new driver (i installed that)
wired networking - unknown
graphics driver - contact manufacturer

i went to the acer website and fond several drivers.. the vga = ati/amd vga_2 = intel are these the graphics drivers i need to update?

currently on the list and how you recommended. 1,2,3,4, and 11 are done

thanks

So it's a laptop? please post the exact model you have.

For laptops the graphic drivers need to be downloaded from the manufacturer web site and some machines have two graphic cards one from Intel and the other can be from AMD.

Hi,

Visit the Acer support page and try to search using your serial because I don't see any reference to Timeline on the list of products only to Aspire 4810t.

From the specs I have found on the net you have to install the driver for Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 but you have to install the drivers provided by Acer or they will not work.

Hi,

Check on the Control Panel, click Start > Control Panel > Uninstall a program or Programs and Features if in Classic View you should find it on the list of installed programs to uninstall.

You probably have a more recent version installed from Intel the problem is you need to install the driver provided by Acer or the switching between the two graphic cards will not work.
I also have a laptop with two graphic cards and it only works with the drivers provider by the laptop brand.

Hi,

  • Open Device Manager (Start > Run > devmgmt.msc)
  • right click the Unknown device
  • click Properties > Tab Details > On the Property box select Hardware Ids
  • Copy & Paste the values on the box to your Reply
Repeat the steps for both devices.
