i show container id and base container id but no hardware id on either

container id is {00000000-0000-0000-ffff-ffffffffffff}
base container id is the same

i do see physical device object name \Device\00000032 and \Device\00000033

  • Right click on the unknown devices and click Uninstall
  • Open the menu Action > Scan for hardware changes

If the devices can back please take a screenshot showing the Property's box expanded on the Details tab and add to your post.

I did as you suggested and received the following (for both drivers):

Unknown drivers

Driver device software was not successfully installed
Unidentified device….. no driver found

I changed setting to search for driver under windows update

Received message to consult with your device manufacturer for assistance getting this device installed

Upon reboot and looking at device manager there were no unknown devices

That's good some times it can happen the device is already installed and need to be removed from the Other Devices.
