hi everyone, so here's my problem, i recently just a new laptop, and on the audio port, there's only one port, rather than 2 ie (mic and headset ports) now i put a microphone in there but nothing happens, it just keeps doing what the pictures say, so i bought a splitter, so that i could record and listen at the same time, so i'm stoked to why it's doing this, any help would be great, i've also updated the drivers... and im on windows 8.1 (it did the same problem on windows 8) thanks for any help

Hi lobbdem,
It might be worthwhile enabling the "built in" microphone and see if this is sufficient for your needs.... for audio output you could use the external port for headphones or external speakers if required.
Let us know if this sort of approach helps.
