Hello hayglennley
The MB to screen cable/ribbon may have become loose or damaged when the notebook was reassembled.
Have you tried connecting the notebook to an external screen to see if the image displays ok on that.

A loose or damaged video cable/ribbon is a strong possibility then.
Was the screen a new out of the box replacement.

Hello hayglennley
Was the previous screen replaced because it was cracked and not because it had the same problem as you have now.
As the display extends to an external display without problem it does point more towards the screen data ribbon being either damaged or not being securely connected, worse case scenario with this is the fact that it may not be the easy to access screen end but the more difficult connection on the MB.
As an asides I would hook the notebook up to an external display and make sure that the notebook screen settings are configured correctly, some info Here

Hi phillpower2 it was replaced because the screen was broken the video cable/ribbon is not in the greatest condition so do you think that is the problem?

Hello hayglennley
Based on the information that we have a problem with the MB to screen data ribbon is a very high possibility.
If the screen is bright and the images are weak it suggests a damaged or loose data signal ribbon/cable, if the screen is dark and the images are not clearly visible it suggests a bad power inverter, the latter based on the fact that it is a new out of the box display as with an older screen a bad backlight could also be the cause.
Replacing the MB to screen data ribbon involves a significant amount of dismantling of the notebook and this is something that you should only undertake yourself if you are 100% confident as putting the wrong screw in an appropriate place when the notebook is reassembled can short out and ruin the MB, from the information that I found the disassembly manual that is available from here also covers the 5733 model but please do check this for confirmation.
