Gday.
Not a problem, we are all good.
The slowly blinking light is the HDD activity LED.
Just to clarify.
When the computer finishes boot up, is the windows XP desktop displayed? (your Desktop)
You said, "Guess thru all this it shut it off automatically?" Sorry, but i do not understand.
Is the computer still running?

Sounds like your firewall and\or AV has been turned off for some reason.
This may be a indication of a deeper problem as in a hidden infection.
The battery type should be printed on the battery but most likely is the CR2032 as indicated in post 168

So KB is working in bootup since you can get to the advance boot menu and works in the bios. Just now in Windows no KB or mouse?

Try this suggestion from SleepyDude.
Please disconnect the mouse, (if installed)
Disconnect the kb.
Restart the computer and when windows has finished loading, connect the kb to the lowest USB port on the back of the computer.
If windows installs the USB driver and the kb works, plug in the mouse.

Any good?

OK.
Before you begin, Please plug in the keyboard and mouse, as in the image below.

With the PSU cable disconnected, case is open, touch a bare part of the case.
Remove the battery, > clear CMOS, like you did before.
Install the new battery with the + plus sign facing up.

After installing the battery.
> boot, > enter Setup.
> Set the time and Date.
> save setting and exit.
Your computer should boot to the Desktop.
Do the mouse and keyboard work?

F2 setup and disable the floppy drive seek again. Save and exit. Let us know if you get back into windows then.

It is disabled. I disabled it yesterday and haven't enabled it.

I will go back in and double check but I am sure it is still disabled.

Once you replaced the battery the default settings were started in the bios which means the floppy drive seek was enabled.
