Hey no problem. I have a different Dell Inspiron can you try press F12 during boot and see if you get the boot menu?

 

Windows 8 is tricky you need to Restart the system don't use shutdown and start pressing (not hold) F12 immediately when you see the machine starting.

Looks like it's going to take a bit...HD LED is solid and the windows icon is on in the middle of the screen, fan is blowing hard  lol

I'm a little bind here but you probably have to choose Advanced Options to access the Command Prompt

Yes, I see that. I just don;t know what to do once I get to the CMD prompt, I shouldn't try the refresh?

You are now on the Command Prompt with a prompt x:\windows\system32?

Start with:

bcdedit | find "osdevice"

tell me the drive letter returned in front of partition

It just went right back to X:\windows\system32
