I need a cable that I can plug into PC/Video card(VC) to my TV to watch movies that I have stored on my comp. My TV has a HDMI port and my VC has a HDMI port, can I just get a cable with HDMI both ends and plug it in ? In my search I have found cables that are end specific i.e. one end is PC only and the other TV only which has confused me a little.

Could someone recommend a cable that I would need. My TV and PC has other, up to date, ports so which would be the best ? The TV is a LG LCD

Well yes usually it should work with a normal HDMI cable with the same endings just as you said. Except your PC has Mini-HDMI than it would need of course that ending. But if you look at the sockets you should see the difference.  And if you hook them both up the only thing you need to do is to change the source from your TV (on some it switches automatically and on others you have to change it manually with your remote).
I have done this often with my laptop and computer. The nice thing about HDMI (except the great quality) is that you don't need an extra audio cable like with VGA. I hope I could help. :)

Thanks, that was going to be my second question (the audio). Will get the HDMI cable.
