How to share documents over wifi?

Generally,I create wifi hotspot with My WIFI Router software.Both my laptop and iPhone can connect well,but how can I transfer documents between these two documents? How about the new iOS 8 instant hotspot feature?

What devices are you trying to share documents over?

PC and iPhone?

Why? iTunes is there for a reason. Just connect via USB, connect to iTunes and bring over any files you want. Provided they are usable on iOS

The only easy way I have found to be able to share between a PC and Iphone is with the use of dropbox.

You can link both devices and on the Iphone just click on the dropbox icon.

It syncs between devices.
