Hi! Can you start Task Manager and see if some thing is consuming a lot of CPU.

You could be infected also. You might want to check memory. You can test memory in W7 by typing Windows memory diagnostics in the search bar.

You could also do a dskchk and a sfc /scannow. Won't hurt to defrag

Have you added any new programs??

Sorry for all the questions, but there are a lot of things that can cause your PC to freeze!!

Need to find out if it's hardware or software causing the problem??

If you post the things you have tried, it would really help a lot!

Hi donetao,

ran task manager and windows memory diagnostics and also a disk check.

I uninstalled a programme i downloaded and ran malwarebytes and antispyware and then cc cleaner and defragmented..

seems to have done the trick..

thanks for all your help...

You are very welcome!! Good job!! If a program is causing freeze ups and the other things don't help, I like to run a clean boot when having those issues.

It takes some time, but it can help you find conflicts that cause freeze ups. It's a lot like safe mode with more options !!
