What to do when my sound on Acer laptop comes and goes. Windows 8, Some days there is sound, and the next moment its gone
I have tried external speaker, but still nothing - not muted, all sounds at highest.
When testing at speaker properties - there is sound

This happens when using same source for sound, say like Media Player ? Try a DVD too ? Happens while your listening to something and it goes off too ?
Try to reinstall the driver software for the sound. Go to Acer site to get this may also be an update for it. If we had the model number of this Acer we could help guide you to right one.
Also explain how can use Microsoft generic driver to test this also.
