I have a LOT of texts I want to keep but they are on my work iPhone. I currently do not have one and can not afford one. I have been downsized and NEED to move texts to a computer. Is there a way I can transfer texts to my computer WITHOUT iTunes? I want to be able to read the texts on my computer. I don't want them 'hidden' in iTunes.

PLEASE help!

If I understand - if my only concern is saving text messages then I only need is their Contacts program - correct?

Also - are their programs PC only or will it work with Mac?

Yes you only need the contacts program.

And what to do if you can't burn a disk on your Mac laptop?

Will a USB stick work the same way?

I tested the programs described in the Apple link but it was impossible to extract all the data from my iOS 9 device. The files are extracted partially or the attachments are missing.

 

After a few attempts I've found this tutorial and, using the instructions from it, I extracted all the messages from the iPhone to my computer. The attachments was also extracted into a separate folder and the messages can be viewed with a browser.

 

I hope this solution will be useful for other members as well.
