I am not sure if this is the right forum. I am running Windows 7. When I click on the on scren keyboard I get a message returned from server osk.exe

I have tried sfc /scannow and it did not help.

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Found this, last post here: c:\windows\system32\osk.exe, a referral was returned from the server

Don't know if it will fix the problem or not but worth trying.

Remove KB3004394 from Windows Updates and restart. It has caused numerous issues.

Go to Windows Updates. It should be listed in Start | All Programs, or you can find it in the Control Panel.

Click on View Update History and then Installed Updates. In the search bar type in KB3004394. When it shows the update, right click on it and Uninstall.

Microsoft has pulled the update so you don't have to worry about it coming back.

Thanks

I have tried several approaches that I found searching the web. I will try this last one.

I have run malware bytes and norton security and fixed some problems.

I will let you know.

OK the reconfiguring screen finally went away. WOW did that give me a scare.

The KB3004394 seems to have gone away and the on screen keyboard is now working.

That latest idea worked for everyone's future reference.

Thanks so much ztrucker for finding this fix.

Now on to another problem with activex component can't create object. Where should I post it??

You're welcome. Now you need to watch Windows Updates and hide KB3004394 if it's offered again.
