I'd run the Microsoft fixit for Windows 7, see Here
Let me know.
Thanks
Joe

Hello Joe,
I did it and the result is:
Service registration is missing or corrupt fixed
Problems installing recent updates fixed
Windows update services not running not fixed
Windows update error 0x80070003(2015-02-05-T-12_13_45P) not fixed
So not sure if I now have all the updates or not.
Thanks, J.

Joe,
here is the reply:
Troubleshooting is complete
Thank you for running an automated troubleshooter from Microsoft
We did not detect any problems and therefore no fixes were applied
So I guess this is it. Am still happy with how the computer is running now!!! Just won't do any things that require safety like going to my bank account.
Will use a different computer for that.
Wonder what Dell support would say, if I contacted them, meaning the free group support they offer?
best, J
Hi Joe,
the message I am getting now is
Error(s) found:
Code 80070424 Windows Update encountered an unknown error.
Thanks J.
P.S. I am fine with leaving it here. I can surft the internet and watch youtube and do some other things.
Hi Joe,
have been busy, but as well using the computer, so even though not fully perfect, the computer works fine now and has been for several weeks,
for many things what I want to do. So please close this thread and add a link for a donation.
